TSB for 12V power outlet in console
I almost fell over laughing when the parts guy told me this. I was asking about the extension cable for the cavernous console when I was in for service today. He comes back and shows me the TSB. The part is not available yet but hopefully soon. I'm glad to hear it is a connection issue and nobody was injured while reaching into the depths

whats frustrating is my wife and I have different ac power adaptors for our phones so when I use her 450 I have to grab mine and futz around in the console--I bought an extender that gives me 2 outlets.
Did anybody think practical application on this?

Doesn't 450 have 2 outlets in the center? As 350 has 2 outlets in the bottom, we've plugged in 2 different power adaptors out there and leave another end of the adaptors hanging over the exit. I also plug the extended USB cable. So I hardly need to remove the container to play with outlets/adaptors.

My 450h has one power outlet and the USB port in the middle console as far as I can tell. It came with the USB extension but not for the power outlet. Strange. Since it's causing a problem, I imagine a better configuration is in the works. In the meantime, I'm looking forward to getting the power outlet extension. The dealer is going to call me when they come in.

Can't imagine why gthe ONLY outlets a buried in the console. They may be good for cellphone chargers, but anyone using an accessory that mounts on the windshield has wires streaming all over the place. Would it have been such a big deal to also have an outlet on the dash?
Geeeez what were they thinking?

designer is probably a city dweller with very little "seat-time" so implemention was probably based solely on "conceptual" design. HVAC controls with Navi package is another. Toyota needs "shake-up" from inside if they want to stay number one.

just go to radio shack and get the extender that expands into two outlets--I have used one for the phone and one for sat radio before it was built in, or one for radar detector.
In any event i know there is only one outlet there as one needs to use the "grope" method when trying to plug an accessory in.
BTW--I have an ipad and it does not interface with the 450
