Tire Help re: 2000 LS400 with 18 Inch LS430 Wheels
Hi guys, first-time poster, long-time lurker. I picked up a 2000 LS400 with 37K on it recently. The car is as clean and new as they come. I plan buying the 5 spoke 18 inch LS430 replicas from OE Wheels. However, I don't know anything about wheels or tires.
I would like to know if 245/45R18 tires will fit on my car with those wheels without causing any issues such as rubbing. If it makes a difference, I am planning on using Michelin Primacy tires because my car currently uses them and ride just fine. Any assistance that you guys give me would be very much appreciated.
Thanks in advance, one slow driver.

only problem is that when you put the bigger wheels on it makes the high ride height really stand out more and eventually my ocd couldn't take it and i lowered the car lol

Thanks for the response guys. Does changing the rims change the ride quality at all or is that mostly dependent on the suspension and tires?

Going from 16s to 18s would alter your ride quality to be more firmer and maybe feel more road than being isolated as stock. Depends on what you want the car for. This is the reason why I am still looking for 17s for this car, which is purely a DD for me.

it's really only over sharp bumps and pothole type situations that you'll notice a slightly firmer ride. as a plus the car will be slightly less squishy feeling through corners

A touring-all season type tire will provide the better comfort. Depends on your backside what is "comfortable". Generally the sportier the tire the reduction in noise and comfort is changed. I don't feel any of us complain we have too much traction. High performance tires can be surprisingly good if that is a consideration among handling characteristics.
