I got a new set of tires today, and upon arriving at home I wanted to take the wheels off and clean the insides of them. Problem is, they stripped a lug nut onto one of my wheels. Not only could I not remove it, the lug itself was spun out from the back. I had to scratch the inside of the lughole like a **** in order to jam it and break it loose. Upon inspection of a few of the other lug studs, it was obvious they were just jamming the lug nuts on with a power wrench. The fixed the lug studs, but damn...
On a side note, you cannot buy FSport lugnuts serparately.
Sorry for the rant, had to tell someone who cares since Discount Tire doesn't.
I also shop at Discount Tire, but I insist they use no power tools when removing or installing my lug nuts. Hand loosen and Hand tighten only finishing up with a torque wrench
They remove the nuts with an air gun, but they should only install the nuts by hand and hand torque them via a torque wrench to the factory spec. At least, that's what mine does. I've never had an issue with Discount Tire; they actually get 100% of all my families tire business. Sucks that you had a bad experience; you need to address that issue with them ASAP.
Yeah, I strictly use Discount Tire and they have always used wrenches and torque wrenches, never power tools. They're pretty much the only place that does that.
