I want to know if i just throw on a fat setup for my 19s just in the front and not the rears, would that trigger off my traction control? This meaning i put 245/40/19s in the front while leaving the rears 275/30/19.

 

Why on Earth would you want to do that??????

Your front sidewall height will be taller than the rear, making the car higher in the front!

Only reason i'm doing it is that my front needs replacement while the back still have plenty of thread left. Just wanna make the transistion right now and go with fat in the rear after the rears wear out.

 

Why not move the rears to the front and put the new, higher sidewall on the back??

Staggered, yet the same size tires front and rear????????? I know that is the "movement" currently, but for the life of me I will never understand that. I digress. The ride is still gonna look all weird with taller tires in the front. Kinda like a Civic drag car!.

Bit the bullet and get new skins all around.

That does make a difference. The front will be 16.5mm higher in the front or roughly .65 inches higher.

Unfortunately, I have no idea if that amount will affect the traction control.

 

Unless someone has already done this (which I would not recommend BTW), no one can tell you for sure what would happen or what situation is needed for it to be a problem. You would effectively have 2 different wheel diameters which will make the car thinks that the fronts and rear are rolling at different speeds. In the best case, some lights may come one and the ride erratic. In the worst case, when you are in an accident avoidance, I'd hate for the ABS system to be confused by the difference. I would not risk it.

I am a bit confused why your fronts are worse off unless you've changed the rears recently. With the car being RWD, I would have expected the rears to be worse off.

 

Don't do it. Look at mysetup and mind you I'm in NYC, Pothole USA.

 

Just stay with 245 40 and 275 35 in the rear.. and call it a day...
