I think the Tein CS can only be ordered with a specific spring rate. And this wouldn't really matter much since the springs will not be used in an airbag/coilover combo.

i believe they use Koni and KYB shocks for air runner. I'm doing the hybrid setup, because you able to adjust your damping. i have tein cst on my LS right now. i went with them, because i can get them easily rebuilt since they are around la area. its going to be hard to find a lot of information on this. since i havent really seen many people running this hybrid setup. People usually go for full air like air runner. Ive seen someone on the new tanabe cobra air which is a very interesting setup.

There's so many variables involved in trying to pick the right adjustable dampers for an air suspension system. Your driving and comfort preference, ride height and bag pressure will all make a difference.

I've had KYB on my system when I installed everything and was planning to replace it with some kind of adjustable dampers later. But I liked the characteristic of my suspension the way it was and decided I didn't need to replace the struts.

Also, a good installer can set your bags even (front and rear) and with the height range you want. Having the ability to adjust the height is nice, but if your installer sets it up right the first time, then there is no need to keep on adjusting it.

i am all new to the air suspension setups and have been reading up on full air and hybrid air. i want to be able to keep my car stable and perform at the same time...just logically thinking if you were to get the EDFC with the Tien CSs and then later on add the UAS bags would the EDFC help out the damping of the shocks or not?

Any coilover that has dampening adjustability will work great. You can adjust the dampening for what PSI you drive at daily and be set. I have Algernons with UAS and LOVE IT! Very smooth at my daily height at 70 PSI front and rear, at 85 psi front and rear, the car handles WAY beyond what I thought a 5000 lb car with -8 degrees camber could do. Took me a few adjustments of the dampening to get it right but def worth it.

I guess you just have to weight the differences. Just ask yourself, would adjustable dampers make that big of a differences that you have to spend extra amount of money for an EDFC and coilovers. And only you can answer that question.

If you are really set on getting air suspension, IMO, you should start with the air suspension and get the EDFC and coilovers later if you really want to. This way, you don't waste your money if you find yourself satisfied with the air suspension alone.

i basically want the best for my car im sure we all do i just dont want to over do it if the UAS, EDFC and coilovers is way over board then there is no sense in doing it i just want to be able to adjust my height on the fly w/o losing performance but i will most likely take your advice and go with the UAS first then figure out if i want to do the coil/EDFC later... thanks

i could just go with the air runners and call it a day but it seems to me that the air runners are much more for height adjustment then performance...if i can go with the UAS, EDFC, Coilovers and its cheaper then gettin the air runners and it has a better stability and performance then there is no sense in goin with the air runners....then again i could be completely wrong in my logic and thinking

I've had the UAS/Tein CS hyrid setup for almost 2 years now, recently remove to sell to another member...

Anyway, don't worry about the EDFC right now...

Get a nice pair of coilovers you like, gotta make sure they fit within the UAS bag, Tein CSs should be fine...

Like Poy said, the ride comfort/handling depends on a few variables and I think every setup is different depending on the driver. The hybrid kit can be setup for max. comfort, max. handling, or middle of both. That's the beauty!

Once you have the above nailed down, you can then hook up the EDFC later and control the dampening inside the car...

Good luck!

One of the best, if not the best hybrid setup.

I love it.

The Roborutas are awesome but extremely expensive. My friend has them on his Supra.

ACleanSC4: How much is the UAS system ?

yeah thats one expensive setup from what i have heard but i also hear that they are cups not bags is that true? from what i understand about cup is that they are mainly used for if your going over bumps or steep hills and is noy good to ride on the when they are up..so basically you have to ride low and hard

the UAS system is about 2200-2500 you can check them out at

there are cheaper alternatives like the Tanabe Air Cobra....but I've heard A LOT of quality/reliability issues.
