Default Is Lo the same as AC ?

And conversely Hi is highest heat of heating?

I assume so but nowhere on the dashboard is the letters AC and when you go into the home screen display you see AC within the climate area lighten up when you have it on Lo.

Just wanna make sure I’m not missing out on something, I owned a Toyota Highlander hybrid for several years and the air conditioning was never very good.

This car in moderate weather the Lo setting does give rather cold air when you turn off the circulation button but I don’t know what it will be like when it’s 100° outside.

I know it sounds like a stupid question but I’m not going to assume anything at this point.

No.

AC can be toggled within the Menu under Climate, you will then see if A/C is on or off. I would assume that your 'heat' is on at anything past uhh... 67 degrees?

If you have Lo on but not AC, it won't be as cold as with AC and Lo on together (obviously).

What you’re saying is you cannot turn the air conditioner on without going into the screens and getting to climate area and making sure AC is lit, that seems really poorly designed to me.

Not saying you are wrong, just seems ridiculous to me.

I am getting 2022 NX350H soon, I hope it’s simpler on that.

That is correct, no physical button which I agree is pretty stupid.

I guess the question then is if you put both left and right ***** on Lo, then you go into the infotainment center (I can never remember what the term is for the brain of the car/the screens, maybe it is Infotainment Center) and go to climate, is the AC ever not lit up when both are at Lo?

I guess I can experiment.

Yep, it can definitely be NOT lit up, even if your climate control is set at "Lo".

Check out page 266. You can turn on your A/C from here. In the summer months, I set my thermostat to 22C and with the A/C on, it's comfortable. I never go to "Lo".

Why not just use the auto climate feature and let the car do it's thing? Seems easier to just adjust the temp and let the car do the rest. But even in winter, with the heat on, the car will still use the AC system to help dry the air so the inside of the car doesn't fog up.

Pressing the HVAC "Auto" button will engage the compressor and light the "A/C" light.
Engaging Drive Mode "Eco" will modify but not disengage the compressor and fans.
Manually switching off the "A/C" will disengage the compressor but let you control the
fan speed and also select the Mode of the outlets. ( I like A/C off and face and floor mode)
HVAC "Off" shut down everything
