...an indentation where the rear emblem is mounted... Now I need to summon my mastery of redneck engineering skills, to get my new, black Lexus "L" emblem mounted cleanly. I also need to get the Goo Gone out, and remove the last few bits of adhesive...
The original Lexus rear emblem, came off easily, with a hair dryer to warm the double sided tape and a minute or two to cut the gummy tape with some dental floss...

So... Do you have a personal goal of putting any and every UX accessory and mod that crosses your path?
I've done this with every car I've ever owned. I have an OCD tendency to change what works by design, into my own personalized version. With my Prius, it took a lot of mods to make it stand out from the pack. With the UX, I have only seen 1 other on the road, so mine is already far apart from the masses...
When I first bought the UX, I didn't find many mods for it, at least compared to my Prius.
Footwell LED's arrived from Japan yesterday... 10 days from order to delivery... I ordered an extra set in case there's one in the glove box.CONFIMED LED in the glove box, so no extra set. Only an extra LED.
Now to figure out how to mount them...

Houston, we have created a solution to our problem...
No expenses were spared... A high tech purple sharpie, a paint can lid to make a piece of backing cut to size, glossy white carbon fiber vinyl for the background.
The black Lexus "L" logo emblem on top of the custom backing and white carbon fiber vinyl...
Some of the free mini roll of double sided tape I received with the previous order of faux carbon fiber seat control button covers, used for mounting my new custom emblem...
Another successful feat of redneck engineering(in my opinion) "hybrid incognito" mod. Only the front emblem to go to enter full hybrid stealth mode... ... and I think I have a hookup on a paint matched, handmade Lexus "L" emblem...
Tomorrow when it warms up in the afternoon, I'll get to stripping the tape backing off, line up the emblem with alignment pins and holes, and VIOLA! Another custom, one of a kind emblem mod on my UX...
Do you have the link to the LED footwell lights? I think that would be a great thing to try out.
Share Styleis where I got the footwell LED's. It's kind of difficult to figure out how to make a purchase from the linked site. Have you ever had an account with Buyee or Remambo? They are third parties that purchase Japanese items, receive them at their warehouses and ship them outside Japan. They both charge a premium to ship the items outside Japan. I have used them both for several years to bid on items on the Yahoo Japan Auctions.
The site I linked, rakuten.co.jp/share-style/ is a nightmare to make purchases from directly. A year or so ago, they drastically changed their policies on items shipped outside Japan.
Good luck deciphering the Japanese info splashed all over the web pages...

Looking at the info, those should work fine. You should be able to get them in a multitude of colors, from red, blue, purple, pink and white(5k or 6k)
Toyota and Lexus has been using the same LED's for the better part of a decade on several 100's of models. All the same clip in mounts and plugs. They are all fairly easy to change. Mostly a snap on panel, with guide pins that go into the firewall area, under the dash. With the LED housing snapped into a set of clips, on the top of the panel. The glove box LED is another story altogether.
Passenger side footwell LED successfully installed...

My LED footwell mod(photo taken in the afternoon, sunny and clear)
This is a "minimal tools required" mod. The most difficult part is the location of the LED. CAUTION: Some planking on the door sill is required. Removing the dash panel involves 4 spring type clips, undone with my fingertips. Once the panel is dropped, there is a pair of plugs to disconnect. 1 of the plugs is inside the foam wrap, but the clip to disconnect is easily accessible. Once the plugs are disconnected, you can unclip the Lexus OEM LED while working in the location of your choice(bench, table, cargo area, etc.). I used a small regular screwdriver and my favorite plastic pry tool.
My new LED snapped into place. Fits like it was made for a Lexus...
All plugged back in and working as intended.
Now I can see my gf's feet in the dark...

Driver's side footwell LED installed and working as intended... Now I can see my tootsies in the dark too...

After my footwell LED mod...
Slight difference between the under dash panels. The passenger side is held in place with 2 guide pins into the firewall and 4 spring type clips under the glove box. The driver's side has the same 4 spring type clips under the steering column, with a single guide pin located above the throttle pedal. Another pair of 8mm screws, one on either side of the 4 spring type clips, hold the driver's side under dash panel in place. All in all, an easy, peasy mod to install...
