I'm supposed to take delivery of my new UX next week from an out-of-state dealer, but I'm a bit confused about something. The sticker lists a $1300 18" Matte Black Wheel Package, and when I run the VIN on the Lexus site, sure enough, it lists the same under Code L7 (see attached screenshot).
I'm confused because the only wheel option I see available on the website builder is the 18" Gloss Black Wheel Package, which would be Code L2, also for $1300.
Can anyone provide some insight here? I'm still waiting to hear back from the salesman, but he's as confused as I am.
Thanks for the reply. I didn't order it, it was on the lot. It's supposed to be a UX250h Base with Premium Package along with all the options you can see in the image I attached in my original post. It's not a Black Line, which would have this listed when I run the vin:
The only L2 wheels I see through a ton of searching are the 17" Trident wheels for a late model CT, which wouldn't make any sense. The sticker and the Lexus website clearly show it as "18" Matte Black Wheel Package" for $1300. Still waiting to hear back from the salesman.
Fair enough, but I still have no clue what these wheels even look like--they're not listed anywhere! Gonna have to pester the salesman to send me a pic I guess.
Are you saying it's the $1300 upgrades wheels, but with a matte finish instead of gloss? Because the only other wheels listed for $1300 are the L2 Gloss Black wheels.
Pretty much yea. From what I have seen while working at the dealer. That's what I have heard the port folks do. It's just a swapparoo. They'll take the gloss black wheels off, swap with the other finish and send the vehicle to the dealer. Then the port folks have the gloss black, send it out to a refinisher and have them refinish them, in this case, a matte finish. Port will never install an aftermarket rim.
I would just double check the dealer. I'm surprised that they couldn't get the images from the sender's dealer system.
Mystery solved, see actual car below. I can't tell if they're the same exact ones as in the second image below from Lexus build site, but they look darn close if not the same.
No problem. I can't tell from the first image, but it looks like they painted over the machined finish. They are the same wheels.
So did those wheels cost you $1,300 or $2,600? I have always liked the chrome ones in the photo but never wanted to pay the extra $1,300 - not sure if the black costs an extra $1,300 on top of that?
I had the wheels on my Miata Powder Coated glossy black and I love them - that cost me $500 for all 4, so if you are getting the black for only $1,300, no extra charge for the black, then that is a good deal.
The wheels are a $1300 option, listed on the sticker. I didn't ask for them or anything, just came on the car I happened to end up with. I'm glad you like them, I'm still on the fence since I wasn't expecting either wheel and have never had all black wheels before.

I really like them - especially with the black car. This made me go out and look at mine - maybe I will have them powder coated - LOL.
