Default Update Maps on Lexus UX 250H

Context :
. Got the brand new UX 250H luxe
. Created an account on my.lexus.eu
. Went to the Eshop and "bought" the 2019 V1MAP Update
. Downloaded the update to my computer

Operations :
. unzip the downloaded file (mine is called PONA4D and size is about 12Gb)
. Wrote down the activation code coming with the update
. Unziping created a folder named PONA4D hotsting a subfolder names FMU which in turn hosted 4 ISO files named from FMU_PONA4D_1 to FMU_PONA4D_4
. Formatted a 16Gb USB key using FAT32 format. Be aware that USB keys bigger then 32Gb won't work as, natively, FAT32 can only manage 4Gb files maximum and 32Gb capacity maximum
. Created a folder named FMU on the USB key. Do not create the PONA4D folder. The FMU folder MUST be the one located in the root directory of the USB key
. Copied the 4 ISO files in the FMU folder
, Started up the car
. Plugged the USB key into one of the USB port available inside te console
. This started automatically the MAP update process
. Just followed the instructions displayed on the HUD
. the update took about 45mn
This is almost the process supplied by Lexus with some more precision (ie: Lexus doesn't tell about 32Gb limitation neithor it tells about FMU being the folder to be created in the root directory of the USB key
Hope this helps new comers
Best regards

Hello JHS82,

My dealer told me the it would take about 30mn to perform ths 12Gb update.
45mn is 50% more than forecasted but this may be due to the USB key generation, a USB 2.0 one
Do you have a different experience ?
How long does it take on your car ?

Mine is a '15 NX with nav. About 10 minutes to update the maps and what else is included when changing the SD-card everything's in.

I'm disappointed there's a map update for a brand new car. I wonder if it's the same in USA.

If you got it new, why you had to purchase a new map update? (you got a coupon code?)

Dealer PDI should include everything up to date including firmware, etc It is a rip off system.. no wonder Apple CarPlay/Android Auto taking so long to be implemented into the Lexus lineup so they can make more $$.

I followed all the described steps and had my unit updated to 2019 v2 (2019 Q1 data). It took about 45 minutes and it was FREE of charge. As you can read in the attached photo, here (Europe) we get 3 years free of charge updates. Sorry for my English since they are not my native language!

New here, got my new UX250h 2 days ago. I updated to the newest maps today, it took about 1h. It's not true that cards greater than 32GB don't work, it did work just fine from a Lexar 128GB in a Lexar reader. Of course it was formatted to FAT32.
