Default Thoughts on 26 UX

Im thinking of buying a 2026 Ux or a 26 ES...I just wanted to hear anyones experience with any UX to include reliability, milage, trunk space, etc. Just real world experiences. I test drove the UX and loved it! Just trying to do as much research before I pull the trigger! TIA!

I've only had my UX since July, so I can't speak to long term reliability, but no problems with mine. I'm averaging almost 47mpg in mixed driving. Trunk space is small, and floor is high. You've seen it, so that won't be a surprise. It's not a problem for me. I love it. I haven't driven an ES. It looks really nice, but it wouldn't fit in my garage.

that's really good to hear! I am coming from a smaller sedan so I love the fact that I could handle the UX. The 47 mpg is good to know as well... that's way better than they quote... do you do anything special to get that many miles? The trunk IS small on the UX so I just worry about airport pickups etc. ,that why I was also looking at the ES. Love the design of ES but your right it is large so handling and seat comfort is a concern......UX is def first choice ... I have heard that it's being discontinued though ....

I don't do anything special for the mileage. Just enough stop-and-go traffic in the city to keep it in EV. I used to have a Lexus CT and never had any issues with it. On paper, the trunk was smaller in the CT, but the UX trunk looks smaller. Probably just the shape of the car.

I hadn't heard about it being discontinued, but it wouldn't surprise me. I don't see many on the road. It's been around since 2019, so it's due for some kind of change (update or cancel). On the other hand, the IS has been going for a long time without many changes.

Same here. Love my 2023 UX. Rock solid. Would have also loved an ES but would have been a tight garage fit in my city slicker garage. I don't think any of us will have any problems with reliability. We did our homework.

Some of the auto news channels I follow on YouTube have mentioned it potentially being discontinued. In my area, I have seen plenty of them. There's barely any in the showroom rooms are on the lot over here. But I'm not sure if that is because of people not liking the 26 ES or if they truly like it. If they do refresh it, that would be the one thing that would make me possibly wait to see what that would look like. Cause if they made it slightly bigger for the trunk that would be a win. I also don't find the backseat to be that bad when I was riding around in it so I don't know. I thought the IS had a refresh this year?

I've already resigned myself to not being able to park in a garage. Whatever I choose lol. If I do end up going with the UX I know I won't have any complaints. I sincerely loved everything about that car when I drove it. So it's good to know that everything is super reliable and everybody seems to like it. What MPG are you getting if you don't mind me asking?

If you are OK with the ES price point and are concerned about space, why not get the NX? And if you are willing to look outside of Lexus/Hybrid, the Acura RDX has even more space at that price point and is IMO much more engaging to drive.

I tried to test drive the NX(if you’re talking to me) and I wasn’t a fan of how tall and big it was at least in reference to what I am coming from and even the Ux. Also, I wasn’t fan of the slight body roll I felt in it. I have looked at several other brands and what brings me back to Lexus is the fact that they MPG is way better, I have always loved the brand since I was a kid, and the reliability of the Toyota/Lexus engines, etc. not withstanding recent issues. I don’t know if we can comment yet on the drive since it’s not even available to drive yet .You might be right there may be other cars that would be better suited. I haven’t found it yet though and I e been researching and test driving for a while. I love the UX for it compactness and for the way it drives, and the style. But I think long-term life wise, it may be slightly too small (car seats and trunk storage). The ES which I’ve recently seen in person is more sedan like and more like what I’m coming from originally. What remains to be seen is how it drives. The NX is something I probably could get used to if I really had to, but then I would just be compromising when besides the aesthetics of it I’m not fond of it

I don't think you need to worry about reliability. The only other negative of the UX (in case you are unaware) is that it rides on RFT. Other than that the size and power are what they are. And there's no other choice if you are looking for entry luxury hybrid. On the positive side, the UX hasn't received the excessive techification of the NX and RX (electric door handles, lack of physical climate controls, etc.) so it's likely to be the most reliable in the long run.

The new ES is HUGE. The length is 196 inches which is even longer than the RX at 193 inches.

I must convince I have no idea what RFT is…. I’ll have to look that up. But it’s true. It is with buttons, etc. and I love that about it. Whatever I think that you’re right reliability is something that I won’t have to worry about

Both NX and UX run on run flat tires and don't have a spare. Generally, they are considered to provide a harder and noisier ride (in my experience this is more noticeable as they wear rather than when new) and if you have a flat and keep driving then it can't be repaired so must replace the tire. If you have AWD, this usually means having to replace all 4.
