Hello! Need some advice!
So last week we finally picked up our brand new TX 500H from Kansas City. Not 5 days later did we get a check engine light and the car wouldn't accelerate. Car was towed through Lexus to Springfield, MO which is the nearest dealership from us. We were told that the car is missing a clamp at the hose from coolant to engine from assembly! Dealership contacted Corporate to inform them and were told to repair and check everything and send back. We were never contacted by Lexus to apologize for the inconvenience!

We were supposed to get our car today but again over heated on the drive here and had to be towed again to the dealership.
Lexus was contacted. We were give three options which take a process of 60 days IF we are eligible
Replace with new car
Buy Back Program
Repair and Take Back (I was thinking of asking them to add on the extended warranty for us at no cost to us)

What I need is suggestions from my fellow peeps as to what should we do at this point. Very upset and put off that such an expensive car like Lexus would have this issue.

Thanks for your input!

buy back or replace...I'd probably opt for buy back and wait a year or two for all the kinks to be sorted out

Hope you got it sorted. Such a bummer, here's hoping you get a replacement and extended warranty at no cost! Let us know how it went please, best of luck!

As of now Lexus Service has been ordered to break apart the engine and that takes a few days, since the engine has been officially declared damaged. Haven't heard a reply from Lexus Brand Awareness except a case number. Never in my wildest imagination would I have ever thought we would deal with an issue like this, especially a Lexus!

Sounds like the vehicle has a defect (or manufacturing process).

Make sure you document all issues and number of times a fix was attempted. Each state is different for Lemon Law.

If it were myself, I would have them buy it back. No time to deal with issues and if any other damage was done to the engine.
