Default Tanabe NF210 on stock shocks

Hi! Anyone here installed the Tanabe NF210 on the GS 350?

1) Is it okay to install the springs on stock shocks?

2) Will the Tanabe springs be too low for curb parking?

3) Does it need any spacers?

Your reply would be very helpful. Thanks!!!!

I believe the Tanabe springs will cause the stock shocks to wear out prematurely, not sure why. I think the Swift springs are the only ones you can use with the stock shocks. So far, haven't heard any issues with the Swift.

Thanks Peter about the Swift springs! I think I will go that route if it doesn’t affect the stock shocks.

Also, might be a dumb question but for a 1 inch drop, would it still be safe to go to an auto car wash? (Railing)

I am using nf210 on stock shocks and I'm sure I'm not the only one. I put the springs on after 30k miles on stock springs/shocks and have had them on for only 3k so far.

The drop is not super aggressive so as long as you don't do a lot of off road/bumpy driving and your stock shocks are not already worn, you should be OK.

The swift springs only drop 3/4 inch all around. The Tanabe will give you 1".

This is one of the posts I came across about having issues with stock shocks. You may want to reach out to OP. Not sure how many miles you have on the stock shocks and what condition they’re in.

Are you sure you want to use those auto car washes? You will most likely have scratches and swirl marks.

If you search the forum, there are tons of threads on this. I'm about to order the RSR Downs, they have about the same drop as the Tanabe (~1in) but a higher spring rate so they will be stiffer. From what I've read, the Tanabe will drop the car but keep the ride stiffness close to stock.

A 1in drop will not affect your shocks. In fact most aftermarket springs are progressive so they shouldn't effect your shocks. Now your suspension geometry is a whole different story.

I'm on Tanabe for about 25K miles already with 20" wheels... so far no issues, still on stock shocks.
