Default Spring installation cost...

I know labor rates vary from place to place but I was trying to get a general consensus. I'm in the Philly area and have been calling around getting estimates for my GS F Sport. I'm looking to get RSR Downs installed and have been surprised by the quotes I've received. They have ranged anywhere from 550-600, maybe I'm lowballing but I was expecting to be in the $300 ballpark. What kind of prices are you guys paying and is there anyone in my area that knows of a better deal? Thanks

I am in Cali and are getting Tanabe's installed for $275.00. The only problem is it is taking forever to get them. I order them last week.

$650 for my Tanabe NF install last year.

Note: My car was brand new at the time (and I was thus paranoid) so I went to one of the more expensive places in my area because 1) they specialize in Toyota/Lexus tuning and 2) I knew they had worked on the 4GS suspension. I could have went cheaper, but decided to play it safe.

$500 - $600 range should include the springs of your choice and the alignment

It really depends on the car scene in each person's area. With SoCal, the car culture is so prevalent that shops have to stay competitive with competitive prices.

I'm assuming the Philly area is the same as mines in Seattle. My J5 suspension install was about $600 at a reputable shop. There are shops that do charge less but they didn't come with the same glowing reviews and recommendations. The last thing I would want to do is to take a $55k car to a shop to save $2-300 on something like the suspension setup that can have way worse ramifications if something wasn't done right and/or a shortcut taken.

But yeah…I so do wish that reputable shops around my area wouldn't costs so damn much for every little thing that needs to get done.

+1 for those great SoCal deals. Competition among car dealers and aftermarket parts shops/installers mean great prices! I love it!

I paid $510 total for Tanabe NF210s, install, and alignment all thru a local shop.

PM me for shop info if you need it.

Just got quoted $735 by a shop in Delaware lmao... He said his rates are $105/hr and it's a 7 hr job. I was referred to a shop in South Philly by a guy I sold coils to from a previous car. They did some work on my girl's car and didn't rake me over the coals, fingers crossed!!!
