GS DIY springs
anyone have a DIY on putting some lowering springs on our car? i have some NF tanbe springs that is sitting in the garage for months … i don't want to spend the $450-700 dollars they are charging here in cali. believe me i've called independent shops and lexus and toyota dealerships and they are all so expensive. plus i can use the extra money i'm saving towards the alignment and other misc items... i've lowered a car before and want to see if anyone else has and if anyone has any pics/ tips for the DIY'er … thanks a bunch my lexus brothers and sisters!

This should have everythign you need. Its for an IS but the process is almost the same. Basically remove the shock, separate the spring spring with a spring compressor, and re install backwards. I just did an install on my buddies car last weekend; took about 3 hours and that was bull****ting and drinking in between. It is actually a lot easier than you think and what you pay for. But it requires some attention to detail
Hey did you ever knock this out? It isn't that bad. I used this to change my struts and honestly the hardest part of the job was those dealing with those effin end links and the *****ty hex key design. I had to cut them off with a dremmel, which =was a hassle.

How much was the labor? I would have done it myself but I didn't have a garage/driveway to do it so I had a cool guy who's experience was fixing up and modding imports for a living, charged me $150 for my tanabe DF210s. Love the stance and ride quality.

$150 is a steal. Took me 4+ hours to do mine. Seems more common to expect to pay $250-400 for the job. It's doable, but not quick and easy. I just did my tundra, and my dad's camry, and the camry was by far the easiest.

I cant blame you bro. For $150, I would have done that too and saved the hassle. I got forced into doing it because I was getting outrageous labor quotes out here in Delaware, and out of pure frustration i decided to just get my suspension overhaul done on my own and learn more about the car.
