Smile "LEXUS" machined brake calipers

I noticed these black brake calipers with mirrored-finish "LEXUS" machined across them on a GS400 the other day, and wondered if these ever came stock, as my 2000 GS 400 has a regular grey, flat finish with no machined lettering. If this was aftermarket, it was very good--and I'm extremely critical. If anyone could shed some light on this it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Jay

Default Probably stickers

Are you sure it was machined? Did it look something like this

There is a site on Ebay where you can order the "chrome" stickers, but it is run by a former CL Member. I think ted920 still sells his stickers though. The calipers are usually painted first there are a few different methods floating around, but mine were done with the G2 caliper paint. DO a search and you'll get a ton of hits on it here at CL.

How many times do you need to see the word "Lexus?"
This is one mod I just don't understand... the OE Lexus brakes are ugly, why call attention to them?

They actually dont look that bad once they are cleaned up and painted. Plus you dont want to look through those nice wheels and see the dingy calipers.

If youare talking about the aftermarket kits like AP Racing, Endless, Brembo, StopTech, Rotora, ...
then they usually come with calipers, rotors, pads, and SS lines, all upgraded of course. On some there are different "level" of kits to fit the applications and $$.
