Default Lower Daily Driver

Hello CL,

I was looking to lower my 3is, but am unsure what route I should go. I was looking at RSR lower springs, which seems to probably the chapest option. I have also been looking at the RSR Basic i active coilvers. My goal with this change is to have my car lower, for a more desiered look without sacraficing ride quality since I daily drive the car to my job. I was wondering if anyone has any experince with either of these options, and what your opinon is. I am also open to hear about other options you have tried out

I used to have RSR Superdown Springs on my 3IS, i loved how it looked. The ride was almost like stock. I just Upgraded to Air Suspension last weekend and now the car feels like it did when it was stock actually. It all boils down to preference really. If you know of anyone with different springs on a 3IS, ride with them to get a sense (if possible).

Yea unfortunately I don't know anyone else with a 3is, so I have no comparison. I am not looking to completly destroy my riding experince, but am open to a more sport feel. The thing that had me intersted in the RSR basic-i was that I was reading you can get a near OEM feel, while getting a more "Aggresive" feel while in sport/sport+

I think it's interesting how many people say that RSR springs ride like stock, especially the "super downs" which is essentially almost slamming the car. I have the Down springs and I'm contemplating removing them because it makes the car significantly stiffer. You don't realize it in the beginning but because I drive hard / fast, over bumps, the car has a lot of movement. It's not as predictable as the stock springs. Yeah, the car looks better but personally I think it makes the car less stable, feels bouncy af

I’m in BC coilovers with upgraded swift springs and I slammed my car, depending on the dampening it’s really not terrible but it’s definitely oem ride quality especially if you run 19s. As for springs, super downs are doodoo ride quality and rsr is not terrible but not oem

Thanks for the recommendation, love the car by the way. I had to assume that lowering springs would only be good for lowering, but would jeopardize ride quality. Out of curiosity where did you get those side mirrors?

I daily my IS350 on RSR Downs... Including Minnesota winter driving. I probably wouldn't recommend Downs for daily in the winter unless you have another car for the winter storm days. For this reason, I recently purchased the RSR basic I coilovers so I can raise more easily for winter. Planning to install them come spring.
