Default When to do shocks/struts ?

Just picked up a 99 GS300 with 112k on the clock. Car is in great shape, feels tight and rides good. Just curious how long people go before doing the suspension ?

its up to you really, technically you replace shocks/struts every 50k but if yours rides nice i wouldn't touch it unless you want to upgrade.

Thanks for the input !! Problem is, I really have no basis for comparison. It rides nice, but could it ride better ?

I just replaced the factory ones a couple of months ago at 172k with a mix of L-tuned/KYB. Springs, shocks and strut mounts. Mechanic said I didn't have to do it, but it feels so much better now. Apparently my rear springs were starting to sag and the shocks just weren't controlling the bounce quite as well as they used to.

Wish I would have done it a long time ago....
