I was talking about the single large nut that is dead center at the top of the strut, it has a specific torque it needs to be at. One of mine was loose on my old set of Teins, I tightened it up and the noise was gone.

Do you know the torque setting the this is suppose to be set at. I can not seem to find it at all in the TEIN manual. Does anyone know the setting?

I dont know it off the top of my head, but I do have the installation instructions at home, the TQ requirements are listed in them. I will check later on and post it up.

Thanks for the info guys. I went out to buy a torque wrench today. I set it to 20.2 lbs and started to tighten the top bolt on the strut. It just keeps spinning and never seems to tighten. Am I doing something wrong? Does anyone else's top bolt just keep on turning and never seems to tighten?

Yeah the coils are on the car now. I am tightening by going clockwise. I must of made at least 6 complete revolutions and I still do no feel it getting any tighter. I am tighting the top nut on the strut. There is no way that this is that loose or maybe I am doing something wrong. I might have to go to TEIN dealer/installer to have it checked out.
How far is the middle lug protruding out? Mine is just over a inch long.

Make sure the shock piston is not twisting with the nut.

The piston is twisting with the nut. How do you prevent it from not twisting when turning the nut? There is no way to lock the piston down when turning the nut.

I know of a few ghetto ways, ie vice grips with some kind of padding on the teeth, but you HAVE to be careful not to put marks in the piston rod. If you do, then you run the risk of messing up the shock. By the way, its also not good to have that piston twisting around , so stop tightening the nut until you figure out how your going to keep it from turning.
