Default Tein CS questions.. Need HELP!!

Any of you guys know how to check the TEIN CS if they are bad or not. I've been hearing weird noises comming from my rear suspension. Also when i'm trying to adjust the dampering on my TEINS i can go over 20 turns. I thought there's only 16 turns. Something is weird. Please help.. Is it time for me to move on to HKS coilovers?

Tommy

There is only 16 recommended settings. You can go farther and the instructions warn the user not to do that. You always callibrate by going full right to lock (stiffest) and backing up at most 16 steps. This is actually what the EDFC unit does.

yeah as long as you tighten it till lock as stiffest that's good. and don't go over 16

anyway, if you didn't abuse the tein cs i don't see how it will go bad so soon, mine is still good. are you sure it's none of the bushings or so? my sway bar bushings were all dried out causing noise

Good point Henry. I'll check up the bushings and the bump stop this weekend. The noise is driving me NUTS. Kinda makes me wanna go back to shock/spring setup.

Thumbs up

Good advice, Henry! My sway bar bushings (possibly other bushings too) were very dry not long ago-terrible squeaking sounds drove me nuts. Took it to a local shop, put it on the lift and greased the bushings-no more noise at all!
My Tein CS have about 23k miles on them with NO noise or problems at all.

yeah, i was thinking what the problem was too, i was thinking it's the suspension bushings. took the car to tm engineering and he checked, it's the bushings. more than likely it's the rain washing out the grease?
