I've got one. Red, beautiful, supposedly makes the body stronger ). Can feel any effect only in the combination with the tower bar.

I have a cusco strut tower bar and swift springs. Only thing I'm missing is the under brace. Might get one. Was it an easy install?

The installation is a breeze - 5 mins and 2 bolts.

Could You post pics of cusco tower bar?

I have the Tanabe Under Brace on my IS350 and honestly I found it to be the least impactful of all the braces I've installed on my car. If you really want to make a big difference to the responsiveness of your IS from the front end, I highly recommend swapping out the OEM bushings of the LCA to 90 durometer polyurethane versions like the ones FIGS offers: http://shopfigs.com/v1/index.php?rou...product_id=235

Since our front suspension are double wishbone, spending the money on a tower bar has little to no impact to suspension performance (they are essentially all show/no go parts). Strut bars are typically useful for vehicles with a MacPherson strut suspension.

^ well said and great piece of advice.
I was contemplating these braces at one point, but now I'm thinking about those bushings.
Will they fit the 3is?

TRD has some 3IS braces that are functional but they are uber expensive: http://www.nigel-jdmparts.com/trd-20...-members-brace

Yes, the 2IS and 3IS share the same front LCA bushings.

I installed the TRD braces on my 3IS. works great. No placebo effect here, more rigid all round. Also installed the transverse body dampers which made an obvious difference to NVH. Suspension stock but will upgrade to rear sway bar from RC Fsport soon.

so is it not worth getting a strut tower bar for a double wish bone suspension? i watched the clip, but i didn't get a sure answer. he did mention that the type-r's were double wish bone and came w/ a bar.

Given the choice between a strut tower bar and the front under brace like the one made by Tanabe, I'd easily go with the under brace as it potentially can help keep the LCA brackets aligned together under high cornering loads on the track.

If you were to invest in a front strut bar for an incremental increase in rigidity, you would need to get a solid 1 piece bar instead of an articulated version with multiple sections connected by a joint.

A more rigid configuration would be a shock tower brace as seen on the Lexus IS-F CCS-R. It connects the shock towers to the firewall and does not have any pivot points in it.

I have the tanabe springs ,lower brace and strut tower brace. On Long sweeping turns the car feels flat (less body roll) but the biggest difference that I noticed was going over an over pass to get on the freeway and the on ramp kinda throws your cars weight to the left and then body rolls kicks in, well with the combination of these parts there is quite a bit less body roll & body flex.

I’ve been looking around but haven’t found anything yet but are there any other companies that make these under braces for the 15 IS250?
