I would say no, unless it is some special bar. The stock bar is sooooo simple, no way you can justify $200 unless it is some one off custom special bar. And even then, for $200, I would look at some of the circle track bars.

Ram, how are those eBay sway bars holding up? I'm still amazed at the fact that we have no options for sway bars except TRD now. You think there would be more choices considering how long the 2nd gen GS has been around.

No issues other than a squeak that I am thinking the front bar has shifted to the right side and is rubbing on the dust shield for the brakes, only happens now and then. Just too cold to mess with it yet.

Else no issues at all.

There are only 25k-30k a year for the GS, a vast majority of the owners don't mod. So even if 5% of the owners mod, that is 1250-1500 a year. And with TRD charging so bloody much for them, it pi$$es people off and they don't mod. Realistically they need to keep the prices down enough to promote sales, the sales will explode, but prices high, people say screw it.

It is a hard one to judge, but TRD, being backed by OEM, should have made a bunch of them at OEM prices and sold them at the dealerships at a price that makes people WANT to do it. They still would profit largely from it (lets be real, at the time the bars are made OEM, they are probably $10-$20).

I don't personally think a TRD bar is worth that much, but being there isn't much out there, they can probably get away with it. Will it help? Yes, you will like having more rear bar, these cars need it.

Look at this, http://www.hrpworld.com/store/defaul...rs-hollow.html, find the length you and straight ends and you have a bar for $200 or less that will run circles (pun!) around the TRD bar.

Anyone try doing the semi DIY sway bars posted above?

Straight sway bar with geared ends:
http://www.hrpworld.com/store/defaul...rs-hollow.html

Sway bar arms:
http://www.hrpworld.com/store/defaul...-straight.html

Anyone know what length is needed for the 2nd Gen GS300?

Also, for those of you who have done the sway bar upgrade was the front sway bar a big help or is the rear only needed on this car?

Thinking about doing this. Especially since the Ebay versions are $250+.

Thanks!
