No, thats the whole point..it feels smoother than it did before (less spongey) but it is not tight. I have to press down all the way down to 1 and 1/2 inch from the floor for complete stops. is this normal??

No bro, not normal. Glad the procedure worked well, but it sounds like you've either got a seized caliper (check rears first) or a bad booster. To check the rear calipers for the seize slide pin, remove caliper from hub (keep fluid line intact) and see if you can push the outer portion inwards towards the cylinder. If it doesn't move at all, then its bad. I had to replace BOTH rear calipers on my 350 a few months back; and now its like a totally different car under braking.

Don't forget to check the front. As opposed to gville I had to replace both my front calipers. The front does about 75% of the braking when you depress the pedal.

^When he says "bracket", he means it's the outter portion of the caliper. If you have a properly lubed pin and functional caliper, the outter portion you should be able to press inward using some pressure.

There was a recall on the 2006 is250 for this reason. I wonder why they did not extend the recall to other years? It was due to the master cylinder slowly leaking fluid.

solved! 3 brackets were seized and were properly regreased and put back on.

new problem: now when I lightly press on the brakes below 10mph I can feel the car pumping and almost bucking back and forth (like extreme abs movement).

Awesome!

The pulsating might be from uneven pad wear during the time when the calipers were seized up.

oh yeah, I forgot to mention- I put in brand new pads because the old ones were eaten up by the issue. I'm still getting the pumping/bucking back and forth motion when lightly pressing on the brakes below 10mph. any suggestions?

Did you bed-in the pads properly upon installation?
