Rear Suspension Creaking Help
The suspension on my rear left side has started to creak recently. If I rock the back of the car up and down, there's creaking on every bounce.
I took the car to my dad's mechanic and he took apart the whole assembly and lubed up all the parts, but the creaking sound is still there. I've read through some of the posts on this forum and it seems that the problem may be in either the lower control arm and/or the bushings.
I'm not really a DIY'er so can anyone recommend me what parts I should get and a mechanic in the Los Angeles area that has experience with this situation? I'm sure that the dealer will charge a fortune and I'm at the point where I don't really want to the car to become a money pit and at the same time I'm not yet ready to buy a new car.
It's a 2000 GS300 platinum series, all stock.
Thanks in advance.

but what about the rear suspension having the rubber protective guard cover thingy broken in half on both sides? Is that just cosmetic? Prolly a bad sign though that they busted? The car deffinitely rides ruff but I replaced the front portion of the suspension earlier this year, rides rough as hell over bumps and stuff still. Anyone know what the life is on those things?
