Here's a very COMPHREHENSIVE FIX for the all-too-common 2nd gen GS glovebox rattle (thanks to Blanco):

Thx.
I think someone started a thread on this and the general consensus is that YES the GS400s are of better reliability/quality than the GS430s. Couple of my friends have had GS400s with no problems. My GS430 has been in the shop A LOT - for issues that take at least two trips to the dealer. Even Consumer Reports shows the 2002 GS being below average reliability.

Your brake light might be going off intermittently due to low brake fluid. I just replaced my rear brake pads and had that issue when the fluid leaked out at the separation of the caliper. DOT 3 brake fluid...driver side top portion under the hood....Enjoy
You beat me to it I had this same problem on an old car (not a Lexus) and it drove me crazy until I figured out what it was. Top off the fluid and you should be good to go.

I have 03 GS 300 11K only had to have the HI/LO AC lines changed under warranty as it was making a weird hooting sound after the car was turned off . The only other thing was a knock at start-up in the morning kinda like a loose exhaust? Still have not figured that one out just yet. Car went into storage in Sept 04 and will retrieve it in Sept 07.

Major problems: Deciding on Wheels and body kit... I have 15 months to decide
