Default Rear brakes seizing

The driver side rear brakes on my IS350 are seizing. They overheat and the brake pads are nearly worn out and I just replaced them last year. I took off the caliper and lubricated the sliding pin but that did not help. The caliper slides back and forth but the sliding pin fitment is not snug and if the caliper is pushed at an angle it won't move. Would replacing the sliding pin help? Or do I have to change the caliper? If so, go with OEM or aftermarket?

I had the same problem replacing my driver side rear brake. The caliper seized on mines also. Theres a TSB on this. Take it to your local lexus dealer and they'll replace the caliper for you.

My sc did the same. I noticed I was low a brake fluid. But then my front ones did the same. And the piston ended up being stuck

Yeah, I'm out of warranty. Looks like I need to change the caliper. From what I'm hearing this is a design flaw . I hope this has been corrected in the new calipers.

There's no sliding in the IS350's calipers. They're rigidly mounted like the Supra and unlike the SC.

FWIW, this seems to be a problem across a number of Toyota products. The wife's Scion tC had the same issue with the rear caliper pin sticking. I managed to get it off the pin and cleaned everything up, then greased with a molydisulfide wheel bearing grease when I reassembled. No more issues at all.

That's what I did too (twice) but it did not solve the problem. I think the issue is with the pin fitting very loosely in the hole and jamming when the caliper moves.

I should also add that this is my second caliper. Last year when I went to change the rear brake pads I couldn't do it because the sliding pin was "welded" into the caliper. So I bought a remanufactured caliper from ******************. Now, a year later I'm experiencing this problem. I ordered an OEM caliper from Sewell so this better solve the problem.

Why doesn't Toyota use two sliding bolts like other manufacturers instead of one sliding bolt and one sliding pin???
