Default My Dilema

So I wanna lower my car (bout 2 inches) , was thinking bout springs since they're way cheaper.

But the problem is I want an EVEN drop... and right now, my 2 twelves in the trunk make my rear lower than the front...

What do I do?

coils are way cheaper than what? if your worried about uneven height, get coilovers so you can adjust it to where you like.

*sorry, meant springs. Any way to compensate for this if I get springs, or do I HAVE to get coils?

its really up to you. i mean how heavy could your sub box be? 100lbs tops? i honestly dont think its going to make that much of a difference.

hey 187, off topic but did you get those 9 mm spacers installed yet?

i have an AWD 250 dropped on springs and i get vibrations all of the time; idle, 0-20 with wobble, and at higher speeds. except today when driving into work. when taking long swooping turns, i could feel the vibration in the gas pedal and floor start.

i have an appt with Lexus next Friday to try and diagnose it. i'm close to buying coils from CM but still unsure. i don't want the problem to transfer from springs to coils.

gotta go with coilovers. the only other cheaper option would be to get two sets of springs, one 2" set and one 1" set. use the aggressive set for the fronts, and the conservative for the rears. then youll have spares if you ever remove the subs and want an all around mild drop or aggressive drop....of course, you may be the first to try it. as most ppl willing to spend $$ on subs are usually willing to spend $$ on coilovers. i cant really say how well this would work...

for $400, you could get a tein s set and a tein h set. use the s up front and the h in the rear.

if you buy 2 sets of springs you might as well buy coils. lets just say each set is $250, that means your spending $500 just on springs. you can get megan coilovers for under $700 shipped.

Coilover and you will be much happier with your drop to be honest. Few 100 more to not having to do it twice incase you dont like the spring drop. Is a no brainer.

i JUST put the megan coils on mine and the ride is almost exactly like stock!! Im amazed. no clunking or squeaks.

I too wanted to be able to adjust for the sub in the trunk....now the possibilities are endless.

I wouldn't worry too much about the sound system weight. 100lbs sounds about right. The spring rates are in thousands of pound increments. It's similar to filling your tank with gas. Your car doesn't drop any lower after you fill it with 17 gallons of gas weighing 6lbs each gallon. 17x6= 102 lbs.
