Default Lexus "package" price

I have an IS250 and I want to do a little upgrade on my car mainly getting f-sport shocks, springs, anti-roll bars (front and rear) and the chassis brace.

I got quoted $3,100 which includes labor, all parts, and alignment from a local dealer in california. Is that a fair price or you think I can bargain way down??

So they're charging almost $1600 in labor for just over $1500 in parts?

No, I wouldn't say that's a fair price. But then you shouldn't expect one at a dealership.

The sways can be installed yourself, easily, in an hour, 2 tops if you go very slow.

The shocks/springs ought to be able to be installed for 1/2-1/4 of the labor cost they're quoting at any decent 4x4 or performance shop.

Wait, sorry, my bad, just noticed the chasis brace is in there too... so a bit almost $1300 in labor for about $1800 in parts...still about 2x what you ought really be paying for labor IMHO. I'd just skip the brace myself, unless you're on the bleeding edge of high-speed track performance it's just dead weight that does nothing measurable for the vehicle.

I agree with Kirtz. I also suggest to purchase the parts from another dealer, have them shipped to your home, get them installed locally and you will save loads of $$$.

Save the money on the F-Sport springs and shocks & labor costs, buy some tools (you'll need a jack & jackstands, a socket set and a torque wrench, ~$200 - I recommend a 3/8" drive w/ 5-80 lb-ft range - check Sears) and get a set of coilovers - they are a direct swap, and much easier to install because you don't have to deal with a spring compressor. Along with the sway bars, installation should take no more than 4-5 hours.

Go here http://www.sewellpartsonline.com/par...d=197102&all=Y and click on "View/Download Installation Instructions" to see what is required for the sway bars - you can find DIYs here on the forum for the coilovers. This stuff is not difficult to do, and you'll save over $1200.

Really? haha I guess I could treat you to drinks. I'm located in the bay area. What about you? I was just thinking of getting the f-sport springs and shocks and sway bars on ebay... they sell it a little bit more cheaper, but looking at the installation instructions, it seems kind of easy haha.

I wish I would have seen this thread yesterday. My friend and I took about 8-9 hours to install the springs last night. What took the longest was trying to break the 19mm bolts loose and using a crappy spring compressor to compress both sets of springs. If I had some air tools and a good spring compressor, the install would have taken 3-4 hours.

all the other components (sway bars and chassis bar) to install are cake

Yeah, the ones you rent at auto stores are a PITA to use. Thankfully, I had access to a floor mounted spring compressor at a dealer, which made it incredibly easy to replace the springs.
