Hey everyone! I have a 99 GS 400 lowered on TEIN springs w/ 20 inch rims. I noticed 1 year after I lowered the car I hear a squeaking noise when I go over speed bumps especially in cold weather. But when the weather is warm or really hot the squeaking noise goes away. Has anyone experienced the same squeaking noise? If so what can I do to get rid of the squeak. It's driving me crazy! I have already replaced the lower ball joints. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
I would check two things. First lubricate the piston on the coil overs with lithium grease, something like white lighting or some other brand. If that doesn't take care of the problem I'd move to the front sway bar bushings. If they're OEM they need to be replaced, if they're aftermarket like the Daizen's they need to be re-greased and you should be OK. As an FYI, I have to lubricate the rears on my Tein's twice a year to get rid of noises.
Thanks for the reply. First, I do not have coil overs. My set up is just lowering springs on the stock shocks. But as for sway bar bushings they are still OEM so I will check out that out. Thanks for your help!
