Noise after Eibach spring insall
A few months ago I installed new Eibachs and new struts (OEM). I've been having a noise from the rear when going over certain bumps. It only makes the noise on rebound when going over dips and pot holes. I've triple checked to make sure that everything is tight back there including all the mounting bolts, sway bar links, etc. Any idea what might be causing this noise?? Anyone else have this problem??
It's a common problem with the Eibachs..I had the same thing, then I changed to my Tein CS...No more noise..It is why I tell everyone to go with Teins, you'll be happier in the long run..
Also Eibachs tend to settle more on the drivers side more so than the passenagers..So your drivers side will be .5 inch lower than your passenagers..

Yeah I had that noise too before I changed to Teins. Did you check your bushings? They should be changed to tolerate more stress. Just a guess. That's what I was going to do.
I finally figured it out and solved the problem!!!
It was the top coils slapping against each other when the springs rebound and recompress over hard bumps. A friend and I solved it by putting some split fuel hose around the upper coils in the rear to absorb the coils slapping against each other. Now there is no more noise and it feels solid as can be. Cheap to fix too. This worked for my friend's SC400 too. Hope this helps any of you with eibach's that have the same noise.

We just bought some fuel hose large enough to wrap around the coils and split it with a razor blade. We used about 2' per side which was enough to wrap the top 3 coils. It took about 30 minutes to do both sides.
Did it work?
I just installed my a few weeks ago, while i was doing the instal i remembered reading this thread and thinking, I hope this dosn't happen. And yay, it didn't.
New shocks and springs and quite as can be, now if I could get rid of my door rattles

When you go to buy fuel hose (or vacuum hose, or whatever hose) look for an INNER diameter equal to or just a bit more than the measurement you have.
You won't have to attach it at all.
It will hold on by itself.

A few full compressions of the spring and the rubber would crack and fall apart.
