Default Do-it-yourself rotors? IS350...

I searched and didn't find what I was looking for. Any DIY threads on swapping out all four rotors?

Thanks.

its pretty easy... just jack up the car, take off the wheel, take off the brake caliper and the rotor comes right off

There's a small piece of something you need to know here - first, if you have a 250 you'll need to remove the caliper and the caliper mount. The easy way is to remove the caliper mount bolts and slide the whole assembly off. Second, you have a drum style parking brake inside the hat on the rear wheels. If you replace the discs you'll need to adjust this brake as well.

Did the fronts last weekend..... No sweat, but had to remove the whole carrier as the rotors were rusted to it.

This drum brake thing is on the 350 rear brakes too?

Did you thread bolts into the holes in the hat to try and remove the discs without messing with the hubs?

Yeah, it's a great way to dent your wheel bearings. I would never hit a hub with a hammer unless I planned to change the wheel bearings after I did it.

My thought is exactly the same - That's why I said 'brute force'.

Where do you get the bolts to remove the rotor?

if you work on cars enough you should have a bolt to put in there. It looks like a 12mm head metric thread bolt.

Technically the size is 8 x 1. Most often they have a 12mm head on Japanese cars. Euro cars use a 13 for the same bolt. If you go to any auto parts store that carries metric hardware, just find an 8 x 1 x 20mm and you'll be fine.
