I need to take off one of my coil overs to replace the spring seat ( the rubber thingy). Do I need to compress the spring to take the coilover off my car? Thanks

No. Just adjust the spring all the way down if your concerned about it.

If your springs are loaded when the car is lifted, than you are not riding low enough

no really..... run the set rings all the down like dRo15 stated and you'll be fine

you dont need to compress it to get it out. the whole unit comes out. check out the removal link thing you posted for me to take it out.
