I installed the front rotors on my car. I paid around 300$ for 2front and 2 rear. What are your guys thought about it?

My thought is that drilling holes in rotors is about the worst thing you can do to them under most circumstances.

They're nice for show though.

The thing about drilling rotors is that it is completely unnecessry unless you are tracking or street racing your car and needing to be hard on the brakes forr long stretches of time.

Like kurtz said, "its nice for show though"

however i'm not sure i would want to show off such small brakes behind stock wheels and huge sidewall turenzas.

sorry to burst your bubble bro but you replaced your rotors with rotors that are more prone to cracking and offer absolutely no decrease in stopping distance (if anything your stopping distance may have slightly increased due to loss of rotor surface area).

If you do a search in this forum for "drilled rotors", you'll find several threads about them. It is an accepted fact by brake system experts that drilling a rotor shortens its service life without improving performance. In many cases, they can also be dangerous due to cracking. They do look pretty cool though. Although, I think they look cheesy when the rotors are significantly smaller than the wheels would allow (ie. IS250 with 20" wheels).

If you got it for the looks, then cool I suppose it was worth it
but if you wanted better braking you could have bought some better pads, or upgraded to 350 brakes.
Personally I don't really like the look swiss cheese look on stock size rotors, BBK's are a different story.

PS. I hope those were built as drilled rotors, not bought as blanks and drilled by a 2nd party. Even excellent rotors like Brembo will be significantly weakened if drilled post production and are very likely to crack.

it appears that we may have scared blk250 away

he came here thinking he did something really cool and all he is receiving is criticism

sorry blk but we're just telling it like it is...and yeah if those were bought as blanks and then drilled be very careful and check your rotors frequently as they are very prone to cracking.

Thank you all guys, I did read the thread about drilled rotor where you guys were debating about blank/slotted/and drilled brake. I just want to experience myself. I really want to upgrade to 350 brake system @ the time my rotors had to be replaced. I will be watching out for cracks on these. Next will be 350 or the drilled rotors of the IS-F...

In addition 350 calipers are hard to find. Trust me, I search the classifieds all day for a pair to no avail.
