Default 12 piston brake caliper

So I was browsing youtube and I stumbled upon this IS250 installed with 12 piston brake calipers =o

Guess I'd have to put off the F-Sport brakes for these ;p

12 piston brake calipers is complete over kill for a IS250 street car!! I hope the owner has upgraded the rear brakes, and has a proportioning valve to attempt to balance that crazy front brake setup. If not, his braking performance will be far from high performance.

+1.

Other than for show, more is not always better.

A 4 or 6 pot max would probably yield even pressure on the brake pad and be more than enough. There is no reason to go with 12 pot and also such small diameter pistons. brakes are starting to be like speakers back in the day were people used to think it is better just because they had more of them I personally would never buy 12 pot calipers, but as long as the guy likes it then more power to him.

Agreed 12 piston is a complete over kill for any car. It would be funny if he has a heavy foot when pressing his brakes lol.

OK. So if I say" I can get that whole brake kit for $1500!!" how many guys would be lined up for it? Exactly....

Those guys who have installed 20" wheels on the Is350 have literally wasted money on them. They will have a worser ride, more unsprung weight, etc. than guys with 18" or 19" wheels.

What about the guys with the 250s. Those brakes look laughable. Do something about them.

I know for a fact the 4 pot IS350 calipers will do the job for anyone. The IS-F brakes will resist fade better.

The guy with that car gets a lot of looks with those brakes. At least his mods are tasteful aside from the tail lights (I guess APC has finally gone international). At least appreciate that for him. He could've painted the car Takata green!!!

The car is equiped 12piston in the front and 6piston in rear. BTW there is no IS350 in Hong Kong but they do have IS-F.
