Default fender rolling question

when you roll your front fenders, are you suppose to get rid of the fender lining? if not, what are you suppose to do.

i got a shop to do it and they totally **** it up. i read that your not suppose to throw the lining away because it protects all the wires, etc. but that not the worst part. there are 1 inch size spots where paint is chipped and to make it worst all four fenders have dimples all through out the edge of the fender.

A friend of mine had his rolled and the same dimples happened to his car. He thinks it was due to the tool used to roll them. Sorry to see they f***ed up your car.

Usually shops won't warranty/guarantee this procedure.

The dimples can occur if they used the tool wrong, and if they were trying to get the fender lips rolled back too much at a time.

You have to gradually roll the lips back, by doing it little by little every pass.
For the rears, It is recommended to just cut the lip off if you need to roll it aggressively.

Side note: I rolled my fenders with a bat. I unbolted/unclipped the lining and repositioned it behind the fender lip as it was bent back, and rebolted/clipped the lining back on. There is one section of the lining that could use a little heat-gun trick, but I haven't done it yet because I don't have one.

We always keep the liner on....no real need to take it off. Most of the time you can fold the plastic clips along with the fender. Always heat the fender before and during the rolling. Stop the impulse to roll too much at one time. Take your time and do a little bit at time.

And Johnny....you owe me $100 for rolling your fenders
