Default For those w/ bilstein shocks

Do they come w/ dustboots?

Are they adjustable?

Do I need to, or should I, cut/trim the bumpstops?

Contact one of our distributors to check for shocks for this vehicle
Not having much luck there...

There are 2 types of Bilstein shocks and 1 coilover system for the 2nd Gen GS : the Bilstein Sports, Bilstein HD and Bilstein PSS9 coilovers.

I've tried the first 2 and I recommend the HD even though it is more expensive than the Sports-provided you are not lowering your car.

So to answer your question regarding the shocks only:
no dustboots
not adjustable
no need to alter the bumpstops

I am planning on coupling it with some H&R springs, so should I go to the Sports instead of the HD?

I think I'm going to try and get some dust boots for these. A blown coilover on my last car ended up being a real PITA.

UPD:
I was told by Bilstein rep that there is nothing (except PSS) for the GS430
PN# F4-BE5-2743-H0 - is for 1998-2000 GS400 and 1998-2002 GS300.

Seems will have to search for something else..

OK, thank you.

Do you have these HDs? How they are?
I am looking for slightly better control (e.g. on a HWY high speed), but absolutely don't want to make it stiff or bumpy.

The HD are the best stand-alone shocks for the 2nd Gen GS IMO.

I tried the Bilstein Sports before and they were far too bumpy. The HD is a happy medium between the Sports and the KYB GR-2's.If comfort is important to you, don't lower the car.

Yep, that's what I am going to do..
Also - what should I change at the same time - strut boots? (Will KYB boots fit Bilstein struts?).
Should I change strut mounts as well (again KYB)?

I have the sports and don't find them harsh. If you're worried about ride harshness, go with softer springs and firmer dampers. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=297958

hd's are made for aftermarket lowering springs and supposedly have a great lifetime warranty.

Hi all,
I actually called Bilstein and was told that HD are meant to be a direct replacement to stock. SP are supposed to be used with lowering springs. I thought that since I was spending money to lower the car, why not make it a little sportier at the same time. Yes, SP is a little stiffer than HD. But I am fine with the SP set I got. Hope this helps.

On a GS4XX you can use either Bilstein although, as pointed out, the Sports are firmer. I don't find the Sports objectionable on the GS430 but they are firm. If you have a GS3, you will hate the Sports unless you alternate with a buckboard and find its ride smooth.

HD's when matched with progressive springs feel much better than with the crappy oem springs. i actually found them more harsh with the OEM springs...strange.

HD's are definitely do NOT retain the floaty/comfort feel when installed on lowered GS. definitely a purcahse in the right direction!
