Are these the same install instructions for a 98' GS400?

Last night I had to follow my wife (who was driving my car since her window was stuck down) and as a result I got to see my car from a distance, on the road.

Wow I have to say I love how these L Tuned springs make the car look. The stance is perfect and the overall effect is just great. So to anyone up for a mod I fully recommend these springs!

Today after replacing my suspension, I found an upper control arm, rear sway, 2 bump stops, tie rods, and ball joints that all needed/need to be replaced. Futhermore, all l-tuned shocks were shot.

Just wanted to say thanks to the extremely helpful write up on the suspension install. I followed jonathancl's advice to the "T" and everything went extremely smooth. Excellent write up and thanks for taking the time to add all the pix too! A+

Hey guys, the GS300 and GS400/430 install is the same right?

Also, I have air tools and impact wrenches. Is it ok to use these to remove the suspension. I know installing it I will need to do it by hand with the torque wrench(torque to proper spec), but for removing is ok to use a impact wrench or is that too much power? Breaker bar vs impact wrench. It's a lot of effort saved

You most likely WILL need to use an impact wrench to remove the large lower shock bolts, both front and rear. No harm done as long as you know how to use the tool correctly!

Breaker bars are safer. 2.5-3 feet is plenty to give lots of leverage and control.

This is true sometimes. On jackstands, it could be more dangerous, as you might knock the car over. Also, you may not have this luxury in the first place, as you won't have the car high enough to get anything longer than a 14" breaker bar under there. This is usually the case when you don't have a lift.

Impact wrench is probably a better choice overall in this situation.

I recommend that anyone using jackstands where this is possible get new ones.

Man, I love this thread. I've read it at least 5 times. I just wish I had the guts to tackle this myself. I'm definitely a do-it-yourselfer, but this is way out of my league.

Yes...This is a GREAT thread, I used it as a guide to install my Tein CS.

My 2cents tip to those DIY guys out there thinking about tackling this....Treat those ABS sensors / lines like trip wires to explosives, or else you will find yourself forking out unecessary money to repair a faulty ABS sensor.
