Thanks for the writeup. It was very help full this weekend on the GS400. I replaced the struts with some new OEM units. Have to keep it cozy for my wife as it's her daily in the 70 mile a day round trip with our baby to and from work. Also replaced the tie rod ends so it made it a bit easier as I could turn the assembly by hand

Today I discovered that one of my front springs has broken, which may explain the vibration I had assumed was engine mounts. It's at the very bottom, so the car is still drivable, but:

Since the l-tuned shocks and springs are discontinued, what do I replace them with?? I am only going to replace the fronts, and I would just replace the spring if I could be assured it was identical.

The Eibach springs are the closest thing to the L-tuned springs.

Thank you so very much for this write up!

Just installed an Eibach Pro-Kit for my GS3 and no surprises. Although the front was a major pain in the *** because I changed out the caster arms as well on both sides, and getting the two bolts to go back in drove me insane.

Anyhow, I used the stock bumpstops in the rear but didn't cut them, and hear some noise =( anyone here have the same issue? Don't really feel like taking them back out to cut the stops in half.

I just installed Eibach springs in the front as an l-tuned replacement, reused my l-tuned shocks, still have l-tuned s/s in rear.

This guide was EXTREMELY helpful.

The Eibach springs are very close, though not identical.

The spring that broke may have had a material defect; a split was visible in the cross-section of the break.

Edit: Why isn't this thread a sticky? It has more views than any of the other sticky threads in this section. Google 'gs430 suspension install'.

Guide helped a lot. The rear is harder than front...it's just a lot of wrench turning and lining things up. I can see how this is $500 in labor. I like to go slow, clean, and lube all chassis points. Strong sockets are a must..any kind of play and you will strip bolt on the big ones.

I'm tackling this this weekend!!! Back from the dead. Any other tips or tricks from others? Can I use that puller to replace the lower ball joints while I'm down there? Can't I simply put that on one end of the lower control arm and the other on the ball joint and use a ratchet to push the ball joint out? And the cars weight to press it back in place??

About to try to replace my shocks. How do I get to the top of the rear shocks, do I need to remove the back seats?
