Question EDFC Installation Question

As I was looking through the intructions for the EDFC, I noticed that it does not mention where you are to set the damper before you install the motor. Does anyone know where I should set my damper prior to installing the motor? Any help is much appriciated.

-Thanks,
Nick

I'm not certain but I don't think it matters because I believe the EDFC calibrates itself the first time it's powered up.

He is right. The EDFC motors automatically turn to full lock upon installation and whenever you power up the EDFC it resets your settings and it does the same thing.

So do the motors have a the ability to stop themselves once they reach setting 0 and 16? The instruction are very sketchy on this.

Thanks

Only 0. It is easier to completely close the valve to get to 0 setting and then set the other values from there.

So you can install the motors without regard to the damper setting and the edfc will determine where it is. My only fear is the motors will go beyond setting 0 or 16 and damaging the shock..

The motor is not that strong to go beyond 0 and with the way it callibrates itself, it should not go beyond 16 either.

Manually, it would be hard to go beyond 0. I guess you might be able to torque it REALLY hard to make it go beyond 0 but I'm not going to test it out. You can go beyond 16 (again manually) though and Tein does warn about this situation. This is why the EDFC goes to 0 first before setting the other numbers when it is started up.

Thanks again,

man i hope the weather gets better over there

but like others have said, it shouldn't matter cz' the motor will just turn the coilover all the way back to 0 (stiffest) when it starts up and count from there
