Default Tein Flex dampening adjustment question?

I just installed my Tein Flex coilovers over the weekend, but I have a quick question. I bought them used, and I have no idea where they were set as far as level 1-16 goes. Reading through the instructions, it seems that they will let you adjust them past the max settings, which may result in damage to the shocks. How the hell do I know when I am at the max/or min settings if it will let me go past them? I know it says they come set at 16, but I have no idea where they are set, thus not knowing my starting point. Any ideas or suggestions?

turn the **** for adjust the dampening counter clockwise (unscrewing it) until it stops. that would be the softest setting (0)

Cool, thanks for the help.

So it will let you adjust clockwise(harder) past the 16 setting, but it wont let you adjust counterclockwise(softer) past the lowest setting?

Hey Rominl, what settings do you have on the HA's? I have mine on 10 front and 8 rear. It handles awesome !

i have them at 7/5 now, not the best (not stiff enough for best handling) but the ride is pretty harsh already coz' of the stupid road condition here, and also coz i have 19" with low profile tires. when i put my stock rims on it's a LOT better

yeah, I know what you mean about the ride, but it comes with the territory if you want better handling regardless. I pratically have no body roll but when I go over bumps it is quite harsh but tolerable. I might go down to 8/6 in the future for some extra cushion.

well if no one else including my gf sits in my car, or she doesn't drive the car then of course 8/6 no brainer, but since she does both i'd better "behave" heheh...
