Default L-Tuned Shocks w/ stock springs as a replacement?

Hi,

I'm not a corner carver. I use my GS400 as my daily driver, commuting, and just plain enjoying the drive. With 60,000 miles on it, I think the shocks need a replacement. Now apart from cornering, which I care nothing about as it's mostly staright around here, what will the L-tuned shocks bring to my car? Firm up the ride some? Less floating. Better all wround ride? I've found a great price for $165 for all four of them brand new. Seems like a great deal. What advice or opinion can you give me on the subject?

If you put in the L-tuned shocks, I would strongly suggest replacing the springs as well with the L-tuned ones.

The ride of the L-tuned springs/shocks is absolutely awesome. Compliant, controlled, not harsh and above all gets rid of the OEM shocks floaty feel.

This is a no brainer mod for those who want to improve the handling and overall feel of a stock GS400.

I cannot comment on how the ride will be affected if you just replace the shocks. However stiffer shocks are meant to be used with stiffer springs, so I am not sure how it would work.

Just went to the L-Tuned setup and it is great. No Float, Corners wonderfully, confident feel now at high speed straight or around bends, install the L-Tuned steering ECU too.

Yes, Shocks and Springs. Springs are very important, the 1 inch drop contributes quite a bit to increase handling and feel plus it looks good too.

Have heard that changing the shocks without changing the springs are a big no, no. There are a couple of auctions on ebay where springs alone are being sold at a pretty good price... you could also check with Carson but $165 for the Shocks is probably unbeatable.

These are the L-tuned springs? Or some other compatible ones? That price sounds fair.

I paid $500.00 for my set so that pricing sounds very good.

Very happy with my L-Tuned suspension, looks and handles more aggressive than stock but retains the Lexus comfort and ride.

I 2nd Indios coment, I also like my L-Tuned set up. Its perfect for the way I drive and a big difference from the oem suspension. Obviously if Lexus puts in on their cars its a good quality product.
