So has anyone developed (haven't been following the site for quite some time) a STB that doesn't require removing the engine cover on an 02 GS430 yet?

Hi Hohlraum,

I believe you have missed the RVM Strut Bar issue on early April.
However, you can search RVM STB for the picture and installation instruction.
There is not much of difference between 01430 and 02 430 becasue the same V8 used.

i posted a question in there about the ability to actually remove the cover for maint. with the bar installed. We'll see what people have to say.
