Default Supra TT brake question

Well, Im having my 20's shipped from cali today and im a little worried about the weight of the rims screwing up my braking so i was looking at the supra TT brake kit. I'll hopefully be purchasing it through a fellow CL member. He's going to include the front and rear slotted/cross drilled rotors, brake lines, and the front TT calipers. My question is this: What about the rear calipers? do i need to replace them with supra brakes also or will they do fine as stock with cross drilled/slotted rotors?

you just use the stock calipers. right now from what i have read the supra tt rear caliper doesn't fit on the GS.

and you sure your wheels will clear the front brakes?

I only say that it will because gentlebouncer has supra TT brakes on his with his Gio's, and those are the exact wheels im getting, so unless he got spacers, they fit.... so what your saying is that the supra front brake kit with slotted rotors and just stock calipers in rear with slotted rotors will do just fine? will it brake a lot better with just the front calipers and new rotors?

edit: heres link to the brake pic on gentlebouncers car, and i just saw that he had put on 10mm spacers
what do these cost and is it bad for my wheels/tires/suspension to put on spacers?

I would avoid spacers if you can. In the front, I'd do at most 5mm. The rear can take a little more. With 5mm spacers, I can fit a few more brake kits including the TTs. I chose not to and spent more $ so that I can avoid spacers. Although going with spacers is more economical, I wanted as optimal a setup if I can. There have been reports of shaking at different speeds. I did not want to deal with that.

As for the rear brakes issue, it should be OK. Most of the braking is done with the front set up anyway. The only balancing you need to worry about if the rear is too good. This is partly why the 4-wheel upgrade kits are tuned differently than just the front kits. In your case, you won't have that problem.

So how much do spacers cost? Are they bad for tires? will they wear unevenly? What are the dangers of spacers other than shake at certain speeds? and why does this occur?

Blue do yourself a favor and either get high disc wheels or get a different type of big brake kit. Any spacer above 5mm is not recommended because of the change of the geometry and the handling changes.

Just swap the rotors, pads, and brake lines. You should be fine.

Ok, I just talked to gentlebouncer, he said his custom car guy took some 10 mm spacers and grinded them down to 7.5 mm because 5 mm was too small, and 10 was too big, then he said the brakes worked fine. Is it possible to do this(grind down spacers?) and is it safe/will it change the geometry?
