have a 2004 IS 300 with 105K miles, the check engine light went off yesterday along with a blinking track off light, it began to drive sluggish and with very little power coming off a stop. i read yesterday about unplugging the batter and clean the gas cap, so i did it runs a little better but waiting to see if the problem comes back. This seems to be a very popular issue with this Lexus model. Do you guys have any feedback / advice?
I would suggest taking it to a quality repair facility. If you are looking to have the codes read, to attempt a diag. Just go to your local Auto Zone or Checker/O'Rielly. An ACTUAL diagnosis will cost something.
Getting the code number and description will only get you in the area of the actual fault. You need a proper diag to have the related components and wiring/etc tested.
Post the codes and I'm sure someone on here can give you a direction to go.....Just a word of warning, if you have an Oxygen sensor code, don't just buy one, often time those codes can be related to faulty catalytic converter, or other problems.
