Shops to install springs
Big Mike
I live in Killeen and Austin is the closest city since I don't trust anyone here to do the job. Dallas is a drive but for the right price and quality I will do it. Lexus of Austin is asking $500 for the install only without the alignment which is another $200. For that much I rather do it myself and then take it for an alignment but is been extra hot and the garage is verry warm this time of year.

Installing springs isn't all that difficult if you have some general mechanical skills and the right equipment. If you aren't in the Army (Ft. Hood) maybe you know some of the mechanics there. If not, introduce yourself to them. The nice thing is the springs will only go on one way... Hire one of the Army mechanics and pay him about $200. That's alot of money for a few hours work. There used to be garages you could rent by the hour, day, etc. Once the springs are on, take it right to an alignment shop and have it aligned. The main thing is to make sure you torque the bolts down and just do one corner at a time.... I'm no mechanic but a buddy of mine and I replaced the springs on my LS... it only took about 2 hours. Good luck. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the idea. That is what I will end up doing. I'm a helicopter mechanic with over 20 years of experience(retired ARMY) and this is not the first time I lower a car. It is timing since I work as a contractor on Ft. Hood and always traveling my time at home is consume by my family, but this weekend look like I will have to make time to do the project.
Thanks

KR off of veteran has a slammed sc over there. Lol my slammed SC, I also happen to work there. I think it's pretty harsh about how you say you don't trust anyone, and I can definitely understand that.
However, I would like to simply say that we do good work, and I will be the first to admit we make mistakes, but we also fix them.
I don't think you'd be disappointed in making an appointment with us.

Thanks for all of the replies, I had it done here in Killeen at K&R(ihiryu) shop and I'm very happy with the work. I will recommend the shop to anyone within the Central Texas are, they are very professional and a lot cheeper than the dealer.
