Let's talk about the location of the next meet, since I totally missed the last one. I was thinking of someplace central like Midtown, Buckhead, or the likes with a decent sized parking lot. I first thought about Phipps Plaza parking lot or Lennox, but they are pretty crowded on Sat and security may hassle us. CSR may have some good insight on this one. Everyone feel free to offer any suggestions. We can discuss the date later.

1SICKLEX I will give you a call tomorrow (Sun) before I start the yard maint thing I promised. Let's go scope out some sites next weekend. If you are in the hood tomorrow, turn left at the pool and come all the down to the bottom, my Lt Blu Saab is in the driveway, 1534.

I'm not sure how well down town Atlanta or Buckhead would work, unless we met in a park's parking lot maybe.

The guys from Gainesville suggested meeting up there, which would be fine.

Couple of other suggestions...

One of the Chattahoochee River parks (one nr Northridge exit off 400, or maybe the one off Roswell Road down Azalea).

How about Stone Mountain park? Huge lots there, and nice scenery. Guess we'd have to pay to get in though.

Talking

1SICKLEX is kinda correct in his interpretation of my post. Think of it as more a recruitment tool to bring more Lexus owners into the Club Lexus fold.

I will be going on a scouting mission this weekend searching for potential sites talking with property managers. Two locations in mind were the R Thomas restaurant or that parking lot where Houstons is located, both on Peachtree St. I'm not sure if they're controlled by a separate parking company early in the afternoon or not, but I'll check. Another spot I thought of was a burger joint in Little Five Points called The Vortex. I became familiar with this place from the Sportbike Nite I occasionally go to there on Thur. nights, again I'll see how the parking situation is in the early afternoon. Dave & Buster's off of Delk Rd. is also a thought . Bahama Breeze on Pleasant Hill Rd?

It is difinitely a lot of ground to cover and I will report back my findings from the ones I check out on this board. If anyone else hits these or any other places, let us know.

Now Dave & Buster's that's a good idea... or even Andretti's speed place... could have some fun IN there after we're done comparing real rides.

Cool

Well I did some scouting last Sat. and found that just about all of the places on Peachtree and Little Five Points are pretty crowded in the early afternoon as I expected, but I had to check anyway. I've noticed a fair amount of positive responses to the Dave & Busters idea. Are there any preferences to which particular one? I75 at Delk Rd. or I85 at Steve Renolds Blvd? I've only ever been to the one on Delk Rd. so I can't say for sure which is better.

Lightbulb Here's my opinion

I think the Dave & Busters at Steve Renolds Blvd. is the best choice of the ones discussed. Those yuppie malls (Phipps, Lenox, Perimeter, & NorthPoint) are PACKED by Saturday evening. I live very close to Stone Mtn. Park and the Rebel Flag wielding Bubbas have it on LOCK when the whether is nice. There is more "cruising area" around the Gwinnett D&B's vs. the Cobb. The parking lot is huge, and part of it is vacant (only half of the building is occupied), plus its visible from the interstate.

Still thinking about those big tips?

The good thing about going someplace like that or D&B is that we can have some fun indoors after sniffing around and talking about eachother's rides.

Just say when and where guys...

good job on trying to set something up guys. Im in the Buckhead area and will try to make it depending on time and place. D&B is definately fun, the only problem is that at night (around 10 I think) it is 21+. Im only 20, so Id have to leave, just something to think about. Also, the previously mentioned Andretti speedlab in Roswell is a VERY cool place lots of virtual reality, rock climbing etc.

Cool

I see we have a very strong vote for Hooters. Actually the Hooters on Tara Blvd always hosts a custom or hot rod car meet at least once or twice a month when the weather is warm. I haven't checked with them about their schedule for up coming events, but I will this weekend. The Dave & Buster's looks like it has won the majority though.

Now I think we should move on to setting a date for our meet. I'm slightly prejudiced against the weekend of Apr 6-8 since I will be in SoCal for the Long Beach Gran Prix, but in our democratic society, I will abide by the will of the people, just take lots of photos for me to salivate over if that's what decided on.

Sorry for not posting for so long all. So, how does Sat Apr 28 in the parking lot of D & B's (Dave & Buster's) off of I85 in Gwinnett around 1 or 1:30 sound to y'all?

If not there, maybe RealMarty's driveway... just kidding.

What's the concensus?

I'd prefer Sunday, but if it's Saturday, I can probably make it.

Time/location sound good!

Thumbs up

Well it looks like the general concensus is for Sun Apr 29. So, Sun the 29th it is. Let's meet around Noon at the Dave & Buster's off of I85 in Gwinnett.

Let it be written... Let it be said...

The masses have spoken, see ya there!
