hey peeps! just moved from nyc to raleigh/durham area, new to the area and club, having problem with my 95sc400, mech. is giving me the runaround so now i'm in search of one that knows what they are doing, can anyone help!! went in for new water pump,thermostat and timing belt, but now he's telling me its sputtering and cats glow red hot. told him to check the ignition coils but he has had the car for 2weeks and now i'm frustrated! can anyone help please!!! thanks and i love the club info, keep up the good work guys,thanks!

 

i can't really recommend anyone,i'm sure somebody here will put you in the right direction.i know a place that works on supras and some lexus but i never had my car worked on by them.i'm taking my car in soon to where i usually go.i'll let you know how it turns out since this will be the first time he will be doing anything major.also it would be helpful if you let us know exactly where you are located.

 

i'm in wake forest off us1, just got my whip back from mech., like I knew, it was a bad ignition coil, one stop at pepboy's and i'm rolling again. let me know how that work goes, cause i need lca's and he will not see this car ever again unless it's sprinting by, thanks and keep in touch!!!!! mad

The lead tech there, Danny, knows what he is doing and has worked on many 2jz, 1uzf &3uzf motors including mine. romeo got his engine swap done by him so he can vouch for Danny too. I've always wondered about phantasm. I've heard both bad and good but not from anyone that has gotten any extensive work done there. Glad to hear some good about them.

 

i heard both good and bad about phantasm.their is a place called tuner solutions on capital you can check them out.and yes it is slower here but you will get use to it.but it's better living here.

 

I've met the guys at tuner solutions.. good guys.. hav'nt had any work done from them but I'm sure like every shop they have the good and bad reviews.
I'm partial to Phantasm I guess, I've built my last car there and it was great, all the mods on my GS have been done there and I'm happy with the work. I will only let Danny touch my car though. Plus they are the only import shop around that have lasted this long.. they've been open since 1999 and a lot of shops have come and gone in the area. Plus they have premium accounts with a ton of vendors.

i've been in their a couple of times,they let me know that i could get my fenders rolled their if i need it.maybe i'll let them do my exhaust when i get to that point.

 

Has anyone heard anything, good or bad, about a place called Phil's Toy Store in Cary? I don't think they will do anything too crazy but someone recommended them for regular maintenance stuff.
