I'm just curious where people are taking their car for aftermarket installs. Now that I live in the suburbs I can't seem to find any performance autoshop mechanics. I'm asking because I almost asked Kauffman tire to install some springs for me. I thought that I might want to find out what other people are doing to get exhausts and or springs installed? The dealership quoted me way too much and the one here in GA won't install parts they don't sell. Anyway, just thought I'd ask. TIA. Hoping to find someone reply with a reputable mechanic on the north side of Atlanta.

 

I'm on the north side of Atlanta, but I do all my own work. I couldn't recommend anyone.

 

A good friend of mine owns Batlground Engineering. It's up in Smyrna. They mostly do stuff like turbos installs and such, but I think they still do exhausts and springs.

 

i appreciate it guys. I'm not planning on any extreme mods so, hopefully I can find a mechanic or shop that I can trust my first "quality" car with to get most non engine, basic mods applied.

 

I trust Hennessy Lexus of Gwinnett to do my work on the Northside, even aftermarket work.

Some people go to Mahdavi Motorsports as well.

for light installs you can come to my shop, Zen Motors. we are located in Duluth. Mainly a pre-owned car dealer but we also do basic installs. just trying to help out another CL member... i've been a lexus fanatic for over a decade with a good amount of diy experience. my employee and good friend, CarbonGS aka tony is also pretty handy with basic installs. anything we can't do, i have a few Lexus master techs that i can sub contract to do the work but the price will be a little more but still alot cheaper than the Lexus dealers.

for tinting i have a friend who does all the tinting for lexus, bmw, and a few other dealerships up here in gwinnett. he works out of his house and does absolutely amazing work. pm me for more details

 

Does he drive a 1st gen GS? I'm trying to see if it's the same person I know. If it is, he does incredible tint work. I'll only take my cars to him.
