Default Should We Improve CL?

I enjoy posting here and many of you are friendly and very helpful! I like the fact that people don't get slamed around here and we all have respect towards one another. I have seen a rise in new members, from new IS300 owners and guys from the dot net forum. I was thinking if we should create threads for new members to gather information.

An idea I had:

In the IS forum we can have threads that cover big issues, example:

IS300 Body/Exterior/Exhaust/Intake = Place photos & names of body kits.
IS300 Wheels/Tires/Brakes/Suspension = Member photos of there IS300 and wheels w/ text.
IS300 News = New information or concepts & photos of future IS's.

I'm sure we can have a thread w/ link's to all turbo kits for the IS300, this might help people that are new to the IS300 scene.

Feel free to put in your .02!

Good ideas!

I can create folders for each of those categories in the gallery to put those pictures in. We can do FAQ sticky threads like Rominl suggested, but we need to link images from the gallery rather than attaching the images to the post for performance reasons.

I'd suggest we create a comprehensive template of Q&A for each of the pics so people can get a better 'snapshot' of each of the items. For example for wheel pictures:

Wheel Manufacturer:
Wheel Style:
Special Finish / Color Notes:
Size Pictured Front
Offset Front
Disk Fittment Front
Lip measurement Front
Retail Price
Place Purchased

etc.
I'm going to suggest posting only retail prices because posting discounts sets expectations over time that might not be realistic.

Thoughts?

On another thread here i made a suggestion but just for kicks ill say it here again.

In the library make a section for the IS 300 and have everyone who wants contribute articles and how-tos and all of that type of info to it along with pics of body kits and useful information about like what a torque converter does or what a grounding kit does just all that stuff then the library would become the end all place for is300 info

If you need some things i have JoeZ intake install, Dragger II install, Xerd racepipe install and a paint your calipers install all how-tos with full photos i would be willing to contribute.

I personally like this site alot and would love to see more traffic here

Guys we have a pretty big DIY section (not as much as I'd like for the IS), but right now its only accesible to CL Supporting Members. We'll see what Ethan decides to do with that after we upgrade.

Keep the ideas coming!

That's exactly what it's for. Not enough folks use it though.

Sorry not right now. We'll be making some changes in the new version of CL that comes out later this year and the facility for processing membership is disabled at the moment.

You can search back for some of the descriptions of what the benefits were - PDFs of all TSBs, DIYs, tech service manuals, etc. It's very underutilized and valuable stuff. Not the easiest to navigate but a lot of good info.

Look for more details when we upgrade

As I said above, it does not exist right now. All details have been pulled.

What folks got was (in general)

Custom Title
ClubLexus Stickers
Access level to DIY, Aftermarket Parts & Tech Tips, TSB PDFs, Maint schedules, etc
Occasional special discounts with ClubLexus vendors

This stuff is old and outdated and no longer applies. Please let's get this thread back on track .
