Default 2008 IS250 wiper arm paint

Ive noticed that the paint on the windshield wiper arms are bubbling/chipping. Anyone have an easy fix for this? I searched and couldn’t find anything on this.

you could paint it or I would buy new wiper replacements myself. not the most cost effective solution but it will look better than anything I can paint.

it's worth a shot to paint it first, use trim spray paint.
sand off all the excess bubbling or loose paint, clean well, dry, then paint!

I have the same issue and was just planning on using plain old Black Spray paint. Is that OK? I am planning to take the wiper arms off the car, taking off all old paint, before spraying them though. Ive read online you just pop open the rubber piece and there should be a nut to take off the wiper arm near the hood.

Yes, remove that circular cover/plug and simply remove the nut and pull up on the wiper arm to remove it from the wiper motor. Use paint stripper to remove all of the remaining paint, and respray with your paint of choice.

Helpful hint, BEFORE removing the wiper arms, note where they sit on the windshield by marking it with some painters tape. So when you reinstalled them, you'll be able to easily realign where they sat on the wiper motor previously.

yes any black will do but I try to avoid gloss black paints to minimize glare from the sun.
there is a reason wipers are matte to egg shell sheen.

also not all paints are created equal. some need primer, some are not meant for metal, etc. I found trim paint to adhere easily and be somewhat durable (for CA weather).

You can use this product. It's verry corrosive so wear some good protective clothing. Maybe get something in flat black. So it won't be a gloss. Unless that's something you are looking for. I've done it to my old Honda's back in the day. Black paint for Bar B Q pits should hold up well.

the problem I have with BBQ paint is that it looks "ashy" as it ages (turns slightly grey) due to sun exposure.
it does adhere well and its relatively cheap.

If you want them to last for years have them stripped and powder coated.
