Code p0021 after an oil change
i just changed the oil and filter on my 2006 is 250 awd. When I got to highway speed the check vsp light appeared. The code it threw was p0021. Could I have improperly installed the oil filter to cause oil pressure problems. The spring and clip that holds the filter tight fell apart when I removed the filter. I thought I reinstalled it properly but now I'm wondering.

No, but I checked under the hood for any loose hoses anyway. I'm thinking that the screen that the filter goes over may have been thrown out with the filter . As I don't remember seeing it as I installed the new filter in the housing. I ordered a new housing off amazon as a precaution and will remove the old one when it comes on Wednesday. I think I'll park the car and drive my truck till then.

Check this

one cause is Low Oil Level........not good after you say you just done oil change! You could have lost a lot of oil due to mis fitted filter?
cheers Paul M.

I removed the oil filter housing and housing he filter was shrunk in from not having the stainless screen inside of. When I removed the old filter I didn't realize the screen went with it. I ordered a new housing off amazon and replaced it and a new filter. I drove it today with no problems.
